Compromising The Word Of God You must never compromise the word of God. You can’t accept the Lord unless you are willing to repent from sin. Sin destroys, and deceives anyone who is not firmly rooted into the Word of God. And even those who are very educated into the Word of God can be deceived, without the Holy Spirit to guide them. You can be deceived by traditions that may hold more firmly to you than the true Word of God. Traditions or Church creeds are but rules taught by men. When people start to love the traditions or creeds more than the Word of God, they compromise the Word of God, and ignore the parts of the Bible that are in contradiction with their belief. You have to teach the whole Word of God and not just the Love side, God has a judgment side, and he will bring judgment against those who are not living Holy lives, and are not living for Him. This is for the unsaved and for the former Christian,( the backslider.) These are both bound for hell unless they repent and turn to God for forgiveness of their sins. A backslider is more guilty than the one who never knew God just as the Bible says in 2 Peter2:19-21 19. These false teachers promise those people ``freedom,'' but they are slaves of pollution. (A person is a slave to whatever has defeated him, ( They got away from the pollution of the world through knowing our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. But they got involved again and were defeated. Since they did this, they ended up worse than they were before they started. It would have been better if they had never known the right way. But they knew it and then turned away from the holy command which was passed down to them. The truth of these old sayings has happened to them: ``The dog went back to his own vomit.'' and ``The pig that was washed went back to roll in the mud.'' as you can see very clearly this is for a backslider because he or she is sinful, and both of them have the same way back, the road of repentance. Now know this, the unsaved person did not know any better because they did not know God, but the once saved person knew God, and knowing of God and of the Judgments of God and still turn to disobey God, and fell into Judgment again. 2 Peter 2:21 says {It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. In Romans 2:5-9 says {But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath when his righteous judgment will be revealed. God will give to each person according to what he has done. To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, He will give eternal life. But for those who are self- seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil, first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. } Now let me ask you a question, are backsliders not sinners, and are they not enemies, against God? Anyone who practices sin with an unrepentant heart is an enemy with God. The Bible says in Romans 12:1-2 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, Holy and Pleasing to God, this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is, his good pleasing and perfect will. What proceeds out of a man’s mouth is what is in his heart to begin with. If a man speaks of God and nothing impure comes out of his mouth, then his heart is clean and has the spirit of God. But if filth and bad language comes out of his mouth, his heart is corrupt, and Christ is not there. God is a God of Power and victory over sin and we have that Power {the Holy Spirit.} Thank you Jesus for your salvation. And for the power to conquer sin. Lee Martone |
